The Creation
Origin is a modular typeface that I created with the restriction of making every glyph based on a grid. The grid I chose was the typical 30-degree isometric grid to create a 3d illusion for each letter. With a central vertical axis, each letterform comprises three planes that extend an average of three triangles on the axis.
This was an enjoyable project for me because it caused me to use trial and error to find the best solution for each letter until I came up with a complete set for this typeface. I love the effect that the isometric grid allowed me to achieve and the subtle touch of color I can add.
To bring it all together, I created a type specimen poster to show off the complete set of letterforms
